Background
History
Originally the ~12 km Dreieckskurs built in 1932 and shortened in 1965 and 2002 (removing most of the forest section), Hockenheim hosted the German Grand Prix from 1970 to 2019. Nelson Piquet's Elf-Aquitaine sign fire at 1994 and Rubens Barrichello's emotional 2000 win are among its indelible moments.
