Engineers

The voice in the ear.

All 22 drivers on the 2026 grid and the engineers who run their cars: who they are, where they trained, who they worked with before, how they have done together and what they have said on the radio.

Race engineer

The one voice the driver hears on the radio. They run the car through the weekend: set-up, run plans and instructions during the race.

Performance engineer

Works beside the race engineer on data: tyres, energy use and driving lines. Most teams do not name them, so this directory lists one only when a reliable source does.

Engineering lead

Runs the whole trackside engineering group above both cars. Andrew Shovlin, for example, is Mercedes’ trackside engineering director; he is not a driver’s performance engineer.

Results are Grand Prix figures from Jolpica-F1, up to round 17 (Singapore Grand Prix, 2026-10-11). Sprint races are left out, except in championship points.
